7th through 12th Grade
WHO WE ARE
Redemption Youth strives to follow Redemption Church’s mission by engaging our youth to follow Christ with bold life-changing purpose. We believe that youth are vital to the life and body of our church and as such we follow the instruction from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and develop our youth through instruction of sound doctrine in order to equip them for every good work.
We believe at Redemption Youth, that youth are perfectly capable of understanding the Gospel message and living in a way that pleases God. We desire to see our youth living out Ephesians 5:1 and becoming “imitators of God, as dearly loved children.” We seek not to create programs for youth to waste time, but to actually develop the youth through meaningful discipleship. Our hope is that the core truths that our youth study at Redemption Youth will provide a foundation for their future and solidify their walk with the Lord. Psalms 71:5 portrays a pretty sweet picture of this with the Psalmist declaring “for you are my hope, Lord God, my confidence from my youth.”
WHAT WE DO
Each Wednesday evening from 6:30PM – 8:00PM, our youth come together to enjoy a time of getting to know each other through a few games. We will gather together as a large group to hear teaching from God’s Word. After the time of teaching, the students split into 4 small groups led by leaders and student leaders. The groups are split between boy and girls, and again between 7th – 9th graders and 10th – 12th graders. In small groups we discuss H. E. A. R. Journals that students complete each week in their own time reading God’s Word, discuss their questions and prepared guiding questions about the text of Scripture studied, and spend time in prayer over the students.
In addition to our weekly gatherings, we strive to provide regular activities where the youth can enjoy fellowshipping with each other and spend time serving needs in our community. See our upcoming activities below.
WHAT WE ARE STUDYING
The youth group is currently studying through the book of Romans. Paul’s letter to the Romans is an excellent book that clearly explains the basic and profound aspects of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We decided to study Romans in order to instill those basic and profound truths into the students and to encourage conversation at home around the text of Scripture as both students and parents are hearing sermons on Sunday mornings at Redemption through the book of Romans.
