Nick Erickson Support Page

Hi, and welcome to our support and information page!

For quite some time now, my wife Jenny and I have been praying about how God might use us in a new way. This past November, Redemption Church Lead Pastor Bobby Wood called to ask me to consider becoming a part of the pastoral team. This was not the first time that Bobby had approached me with the idea. As a matter of fact, I had previously pushed his request to the side because I wasn’t sure what God was doing.  But this time when Bobby called, God had been working in my life on the matter, so I agreed to pray about the possibility.

I knew God was moving when Jenny started to see the same vision of what God was doing in Utah, and how we could fit into that equation. While we are excited for our new adventure, we are still a few months from being able to officially be in Utah.  I have been leading in ministry in Manning, South Carolina for nearly 9 years and my wife has been teaching in the South Carolina school system for 15 years. Between now and the beginning of the summer, Jenny will finish up her contract with the school and I will transition out of our current ministry in Manning. Then we will make the cross-country move to Ogden, UT to begin this new leg of our journey as a family.

As Leadership Pastor at Redemption Church, I will work in the areas of leadership development, assimilation, and discipleship. I am excited to be a part of this team and to work with the people of Ogden as we share the Gospel with the world.

We hope that you will join us on this new leg of our journey! You can get involved in a variety of ways!

1. You can PRAY!

– Please pray for our family in this time of transition. We will be in a brand new place with a totally different culture and community context. We will be far away from any family. Please pray for Jenny, our kids, and myself, that we would adjust well to the newness of it all.

– Please pray for God to provide. Because Redemption Church is a church plant, I will be raising my own support. We are relying on God to use partnering churches, friends, family, and even strangers to provide for our needs! (See #2 below if you’d like to be an answer to this prayer).

– Please pray for many opportunities to build relationships with those who are lost, and ultimately, to have a chance to share the Gospel with them. This area of the country is a very tough place, spiritually speaking, with the vast majority of people having no knowledge of who Jesus Christ truly is. The Evangelical population in the Salt Lake area is a mere 2.8 percent. But where the Gospel is present, there is hope.

2. You can GIVE!

Please consider giving financially to help support our family. As stated above, because Redemption Church is a new fellowship, there are few funds to support a full church staff. Your one-time or monthly gift, no matter the amount, will go a long way in allowing us to spread the Gospel in South Ogden and beyond. If you’d like to commit your financial support, please fill out the form below.

3. You can GO!

We love to host families and church groups who want to help us impact our community for the Gospel. That may look like a Sunday School class or Community Group coming on Spring Break to help with campus ministry at Weber State University. It might look like a Youth Group traveling to South Ogden during the summer to help host evangelistic block parties and assist with outreach. Or maybe, just maybe, it means picking up and moving across the country and planting yourself in South Ogden in order to be salt and light in a dark community. You never know! It may sound crazy, but I’ve seen God do it before!

We thank you so much for your prayerful consideration in this matter. No matter how you get involved, whether through praying, giving, or going, we thank you for your support of our family and your concern for the lost in Ogden, Utah. If you have any questions or concerns about Redemption Church or anything else, please feel free to send an email to
