Starting April 12, we’ll be digging into the book of Ephesians. This is a great book and is very different from many of Paul’s other epistles. Most of the other epistles were “occasional documents.” That means they were written to address a specific occasion or issue. Those churches had very specific problems that Paul or the other apostles were addressing. The book of Ephesians has a more general feel. It covers more topics like salvation, the law, our walks as Christians, marriage, children, and unity in the church.

It also links together how our position in Jesus affects our practice with Jesus. Basically, being a Christian changes the way one lives. Right belief affects right practice. You can’t have one without the other. Also, it shows how beliefs lead to action not the other way around. The book of Ephesians is clear. Good actions do nothing for the believer with his place with God. It is wholly contingent upon the free gift of Jesus. Belief in Jesus grants eternal life.

There is so much depth in this book, and I encourage you all to read Ephesians, dig into the meat of the work, and join us on Sunday!
